ShortcaKe 4K
The ShortcaKe 4K is a timed 4-kilometer running and walking event held at Sunshine Horses, located at 3721 Verplank Rd., Clay, NY 13041. The event is organized to benefit Sunshine Horses, Inc. and includes awards for Overall, Masters, and Age Group winners.
All participants receive a strawberry shortcake after completing the course. The first 280 registrants are guaranteed a custom race shirt. All finishers receive a custom finisher medal. A virtual 4K option is available; virtual entries include the same event swag and medals, which may be picked up at packet pickup or mailed to participants.
Registration for both the in-person and virtual options opens December 3, 2025 and closes December 31, 2025. The in-person registration fee is listed as $37.50 and includes the RSU processing fee. The virtual registration fee is listed as $43.00.
Following the timed event, the site hosts a festival hosted by Sunshine Horses with vendors, riding demonstrations, food, raffle baskets, and horses on the grounds.
