About the race
The Shoreline Marathon in Ventura is a road running event held on the beachfront at Solimar Beach. The event offers multiple measured race distances and a USATF-certified course that has been accepted as a Boston qualifier.
The full marathon uses a mostly flat, three-loop course along the Ventura shoreline. The event is described as walker friendly and provides a generous seven hour time limit for marathon finishers. An early start option is available for full marathon runners who notify the organizers in advance; early starters should be prepared to be self-sufficient for water until race water stations are fully staffed.
Aid and facilities along the course include water and Gatorade stations approximately every 1.5 miles, porta potties about every 1.5 miles and at the event expo, and self-serve foot-pedal water dispensers. The race operates cup-less water stations and offers reusable cups for purchase at packet pickup.
Race amenities include race day packet pickup, a technical event shirt, a custom finisher medal, and awards for top overall finishers and age group places. Shuttle parking is provided from designated pickup locations rather than athlete parking at the Rincon area.
