Shoreline 5K
The Shoreline 5K is an evening road event held on Thursday, August 6 with start and finish at DCR's Carson Beach near the Edward J. McCormack Bathhouse. The course follows an out and back route along the shoreline on William J. Day Boulevard and measures about 3.1 miles.
Registration is limited to athletes holding special access entry codes and is managed through the B.A.A. Athletes' Village. General registration has reached capacity; when it was open it operated on a first come first served basis with an entry fee of $35.
All participants receive a special event item, event amenities, and timing. Entries are nontransferrable, nondeferrable, and nonrefundable, and athletes must be at least 10 years old on race day.
Two hydration stations will be located along the course providing Poland Spring Water. For safety reasons strollers, in line skates, skateboards and similar vehicles, and animals are not permitted.
Parking is extremely limited with nearby paid parking at the UMass Bayside Lot. Personal bike storage is available at Gear Check free of charge. Public transportation options include the MBTA Red Line to JFK UMass with an approximate 0.5 mile walk and local bus service. Several BlueBikes stations are located within roughly 0.3 to 0.7 miles of the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
