Shoreline 5K
The Shoreline 5K is a community running event held at DCR’s Carson Beach near the Edward J. McCormack Bathhouse on Thursday, August 6. The course is an out and back along the South Boston shoreline on William J. Day Boulevard, covering 5K (3.1 miles). Two hydration stations with Poland Spring Water are located along the route.
Registration access is currently limited. Only participants with special access entry codes may register through the B.A.A. Athletes’ Village; general registration has reached capacity. Earlier registration had a $35 entry fee. Entries are non-transferrable, non-deferrable, and non-refundable. Registered athletes must be at least 10 years old on race day. All participants receive a special event item, event amenities, and race timing.
Parking near the course is extremely limited. Public transportation is recommended and several MBTA and BlueBikes access points serve the area, including the JFK/UMass Red Line stop with an approximate 0.5 mile walk along William J. Day Boulevard to Carson Beach. Personal bike storage is available at Gear Check free of charge. Rideshare drop off is advised at the JFK/UMass MBTA stop. Nearby pay-by-plate parking is available at the UMass/Bayside Lot.
Strollers, in-line skates, skateboards and animals are prohibited for safety. Year by year results are maintained for the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
