Event
Shoot for the Stars 5k is scheduled for Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Taylor Ranch Elementary School in Venice, Florida (2500 Taylor Ranch Trail, Venice, FL 34293). The event offers the following distances:
- 5k Run/Walk (chip-timed)
- Virtual 5k Run/Walk
The in-person 5k includes awards for multiple age groups and a post-race celebration. Finishers of the in-person 5k receive a custom finisher medal.
Logistics and cause
Registered participants may receive a custom short-sleeve race shirt; shirt requests are subject to availability and the shirt deadline is the end of January. Advance packet pickup is available at Taylor Ranch Elementary School on the Thursday before the race from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Any shirts not picked up after the run will be available to trade; medals will not be saved post race and unclaimed packets, shirts, or medals will be forfeited.
Pricing listed for the events is $35 for the in-person 5k (price increases after February 27, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EST) and $40 for the virtual 5k (registration ends February 28, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EST). Fundraising proceeds are intended to support senior scholarships for former TRS Trailblazers and to help fund two interventionists for the 2025-2026 school year. Sponsors include Sea Knight TPS.
