About the race
Shoot for the Stars 5k is scheduled for February 27, 2027 at Taylor Ranch Elementary School in Venice, FL. The event offers an on-site, chip timed 5K race and a virtual 5K option that can be completed on a participant’s choice of course.
- 3.1 Miles : On-site chip timed 5K, run or walk
- 3.1 Miles : Virtual 5K with shipping option for shirt and medal
On-site registrants receive a custom short-sleeve race shirt (subject to availability; shirt deadline is the end of January) and all 5K finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Virtual registrations include shipping of the race shirt and finisher medal to a US address, or participants may opt to pick up swag at the advance packet pickup to avoid shipping. Advance packet pickup is at Taylor Ranch Elementary School on the Thursday before the race from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; race packet pickup is available on race day from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Unclaimed shirts may be available to trade after the run; medals will not be saved after the event.
Awards include first male and female overall, overall elementary student (ages 5 to 11), masters, grandmasters, senior grandmasters, veteran grandmasters, and 3-deep placements in multiple age groups. Registration opens August 6, 2026 and closes January 31, 2027 for the on-site 5K and February 26, 2027 for the virtual 5K. Fees listed are $35.00 for the on-site 5K and $40.00 for the virtual 5K.
