Shoot for the Stars 5k
Shoot for the Stars 5k is organized by Taylor Ranch Elementary School in Venice, Florida. The event on February 27, 2027 includes an in-person and a virtual 5K option held around the Taylor Ranch School campus and surrounding area.
The event features:
- 5k Run/Walk - 3.1 Miles
- Virtual 5k Run/Walk - 3.1 Miles
The in-person 5K is chip timed. Registration for the in-person race opens on August 6, 2026 and closes on February 26, 2027 with a reported fee of $35. The virtual option opens August 4, 2026 and closes February 27, 2027 with a reported fee of $40. Virtual registrations include shipping of the race shirt and finisher medal to a US address unless the participant chooses packet pickup instead.
All 5K finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Registered participants receive a custom short-sleeve race shirt subject to availability; the shirt deadline is the end of January and sizes may be limited after that date. Awards are planned for overall male and female, overall elementary student (ages 5-11), masters, grandmasters, senior grandmasters, veteran grandmasters, and three-deep in multiple age groups from 6 and under up to 80 and over.
Advance packet pickup is at Taylor Ranch Elementary School (2500 Taylor Ranch Trail, Venice, FL 34293) on the Thursday before the race from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Race-day packet pickup is available between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Unclaimed medals will not be saved after the event and uncollected shirts or packets may be forfeited or available for trade.
