The Pagoda Pacers A.C. presents the 36th annual Shiver by the River winter race series held across four Sundays in December, January, February, and March at Jim Dietrich Park in Reading, PA. The event offers both 5k and 10k road races on a wheel measured course. Both distances start at the same location; 10k participants complete the loop twice. The course is run on open roads that remain subject to traffic.
Entry options include a series registration or individual race entry. Swag must be preordered; a long sleeve tech shirt is available for $12 with a specified preorder deadline. Series and individual fee levels are published for the series, and there is a no refunds policy. No mailing of awards is provided. Indoor registration is available on race day.
Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance. Series awards are determined by cross-country style scoring using a runner’s best three finishes; a minimum of three races is required to be eligible for series awards. The series includes age-group awards and special divisions such as Clydesdale and Masters. Proceeds support the Pagoda Pacer Scholarship Fund and club health and fitness activities. The event is conducted in cooperation with Muhlenberg Township Parks and Recreation and is insured by the Road Runners Club of America.
