Shiver by the River 5K & 10K Winter Race Series, Race 1 of 4
The Pagoda Pacers A.C. present a four-race winter road series held in Reading, Pennsylvania at Jim Dietrich Park (4899 Stoudt's Ferry Bridge Rd). The series takes place on four Sundays: December 13, 2026; January 10, 2027; February 14, 2027; and March 14, 2027. The event is described as a "no frills" series with indoor registration, a wheel measured course, and post-race snacks.
Distances offered:
- 5 km
- 10 km, two loops of the measured course
Both distances start at the same location and the 10 km route covers the loop twice. The road remains open to traffic during the races. Results and awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance. Series awards use a cross-country style scoring system that counts the best three finishes out of the four races; series awards are presented after the March race and include overall, master, and Clydesdale categories plus age-group awards.
Swag must be preordered; a long sleeve tech shirt is available for $12 with a preorder deadline of November 13, 2026. Series registration pricing and individual race fees are published for the event.
