Event Information

The Naked Nick takes place in Leesport, Pennsylvania. The start and finish location is near 1420 Palisades Drive, within the Day Use Area of a park. The event features two distances: a 25 km and a 50 km trail race.

Course Details

The course runs along the trails of Blue Marsh Lake, on the south side. The basic route is a lollipop shape: 5.5 miles out, a 4.5-mile loop, and 5.5 miles back. The 50 km distance consists of completing this route twice. The terrain is approximately 80% single-track trail and 20% gravel roads. The trails are generally runnable but may have occasional rocks or roots. Conditions in December can include snow, ice, or mud, which can increase difficulty. The elevation gain is approximately 1500 feet for the 25 km and 3000 feet for the 50 km.

Race Logistics

The event uses old-fashioned tear-off bib timing. Runners must finish the distance for which they registered. The time limit for all runners is 5:00 PM, making the 25 km distance hiker-friendly. Aid stations with water, Gatorade, and typical race snacks are located at multiple points along the course. Runners are advised to carry a bottle for hydration between stations. 50 km runners have access to a drop bag at mile 15.5.

Other Details

Awards are given to the top three overall finishers and the top three in several age groups. All finishers receive a small German-style memento. Post-race food is provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
