About the race
Pretzel City Sports lists the 15th annual HumBug Bustle 5k on December 19, 2026 in Reading, PA, at Trooper Thorn’s Irish Beef House (451 Morgantown Rd, Rt. 10). The course is on the Thun RailTrail behind the venue and is described as almost road-like; if the trail is snow covered, an alternate route on neighboring plowed streets will be used. A snow date is scheduled for the next Saturday, December 27, with an alternate road course available if needed.
The event offers timed results with a clock at the finish and instant results posted on race day. Walkers are welcome. Participants receive one free select beer with each entry. Light snacks are available and meals can be purchased on site. Street parking is plentiful. The event is staged regardless of weather conditions short of roads being essentially impassable.
Awards are given to overall 1st male and female and to the top three male and female finishers in age divisions 0-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-77 (70+ for female) and 78+. Clydesdale divisions award the top three men and top three women; qualifying weights are listed for men and women. Costume awards are presented for male, female and group displays of holiday spirit.
Entry pricing varies by deadline and shirt option. Online registration is available until midnight the Wednesday of race week; race day registration may be accepted for cash or check only, with no guarantee of shirts or later giveaways.
