About the race
Pretzel City Sports presents the 15th annual HumBug Bustle 5k, a road 5k held in Reading, Pennsylvania at Trooper Thorn’s Irish Beef House, 451 Morgantown Rd (Rt 10). The course uses the Thun RailTrail behind the venue and is described as almost road-like; if the trail is snow covered the race will use neighboring plowed streets or an alternate road course.
The event includes a finish clock, instant results, light snacks, meals available for purchase and plentiful street parking. Each entry includes one free select beer. Walkers are welcome. Costume awards will be given for the most festive male, female and group attire.
Awards are given to the overall first male and female plus the top three male and female finishers in these age divisions 0-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-77 (70+ for female) and 78+. There is also a Clydesdales category with top three male and female Clydes winners; qualifying weights are listed for men and women.
Entry fees vary by entry date and whether the entry includes a long sleeve shirt. Shirt sizes offered are S, M, L, XL and 2X; extra shirts are limited. The event is scheduled for December 19, 2026, and will be postponed only if roads are essentially impassable; a snow date is set for the following Saturday, December 27, 2026.
