HumBug Bustle 5k
The HumBug Bustle is the 15th annual 5k road event presented by Pretzel City Sports, held on December 19, 2026, at Trooper Thorn’s Irish Beef House, 451 Morgantown Rd (Rt 10), Reading, PA. The course is on the Thun RailTrail behind the venue and is described as almost road-like; if the trail is snow covered the field will use neighboring plowed streets. An alternate road course is available if deep snow covers the trail.
Entries include one free select beer per entry. Walkers are welcome. The event provides a clock at the finish, light snacks, instant results, meals for purchase and street parking near the venue. Costume awards will be given for best holiday attire by men, women and groups. Competitive awards include 1st overall male and female plus the top three male and female in these age groups: 0-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-77 (70 and up for women) and 78 and up for men. Clydesdale awards go to the top three male and female Clydesdales regardless of age; qualifying weights are listed for men and women.
Entry options and shirt availability vary by date. With a long sleeve shirt the fee is $30 if entered by December 6, 2026 and $35 thereafter while shirts last; without a shirt the fee is $25 by December 6 and $30 thereafter. Shirt sizes offered are S, M, L, XL and 2X. The event is held rain, shine or snow on the ground and will be postponed only if roads are essentially impassable; a snow date is the next Saturday, December 27, 2026.
