Shillelagh Shuffle 5K
The Shillelagh Shuffle is a community running event held in Cornelius, North Carolina. This event is a partnership between the Lake Norman YMCA and Lost Worlds Brewing Company. The competition features two distinct distances for participants:
- 5K timed road race
- 1 Mile Half Pint Fun Run
The 5K course is open to various age groups, including categories for children aged 9 and under, teenagers, and adults up to 70 years and over. Top male and female overall finishers, as well as winners in each age category, receive awards such as memberships to the YMCA, pint glasses, and drink tokens for those of legal age.
This event is family and dog friendly. It includes a costume contest with specific awards for the best dressed runner and the best dressed pet. On-site activities feature a pre-race warm up, live music, food trucks, and coffee. Participants can attend a packet pick up event at the brewery in the days leading up to the race.
