Lake Norman State Park 30K and 50K Trail Race
The event on December 5, 2026 at Lake Norman State Park in Troutman, NC offers two trail distances: a 30K and a 50K. Both races use smooth rolling single track trails laid out as a series of named loops completed counterclockwise and opposite to bike traffic. The courses are not repeat loops. Both distances list approximately 1,600 feet of elevation gain and a nine hour cutoff time.
Aid stations are available along the course and are described as fully stocked with water, soda, Tailwind, and assorted food. Typical food items include sandwiches, cookies, oranges, bananas, Hammer Gels, chips, and other snacks. Specific aid station locations are given in miles for the course, with Aid Station 1 located near the Wildlife Loop and additional stations placed on the 50K route.
All finishers who complete their selected event receive a finisher medal. Awards are planned for overall first place male and female and for first place masters male and female in both events. Results will be posted to Ultra Signup and Ultrarunning Magazine. The event is scheduled to run rain or shine and the refund policy states there are no refunds, bib transfers, or deferrals.
Volunteers receive a shirt; volunteers contributing four hours or more may receive entry for the following year. Camping is available at Lake Norman State Park and nearby hotels are located in Statesville and Mooresville. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
