Krueger Reindeer Romp 5K
The Krueger Reindeer Romp is an annual holiday event held at the Harris YMCA in SouthPark, Charlotte, North Carolina. The 13th Annual edition takes place on December 5, 2026 and includes a timed 5K and a separate kids obstacle course run by Carolina Ninja Academy for ages 12 and under; children 4 and younger must be supervised by an adult and a waiver is required for the kids course.
The event supports YMCA programs and its associated YMCA Annual Campaign. In 2025 more than 1,000 people took part. Presenting sponsor for 2026 is Amwins and Joy Sponsor is Coca-Cola Consolidated. Other sponsors include local businesses listed as gold, silver, and bronze supporters.
All participants receive a commemorative long sleeve t-shirt; there is an option to upgrade to a hoodie for an additional $20. Registration fees vary by date for the 5K and the kids course; listed 5K fees ranged from $35 to $50 across registration periods while the kids obstacle course fee was shown as $20. A remote registration option labeled Support from Afar allows participation without attending in person but race swag must be picked up at packet pickup locations.
