Shiitake Shuffle 5K Run and 1.5 Mile Walk
The Shiitake Shuffle is a community road event held in Blandon, Pennsylvania at the Can Corporation of America facility, 326 June Ave. It offers two options for participants:
- 5K run
- 1.5 mile walk
The 5K course begins at the CCA facility, passes the Giorgio "Farm of the Future," returns along June Ave, tours the surrounding neighborhood, and finishes back at the CCA facility. The walk follows a shortened route. The event includes on-site amenities such as participant shirts for pre-registrants, swag bags, refreshments, outdoor toilet facilities, ample parking, a finish line clock with instant results, and collectible completion medallions. The event is held rain or shine; there are no refunds or mailed awards.
Awards include trophies for the top three overall male and female finishers and for first-place grandmasters age 50 and over, plus medals for first through third place in each age group. Age categories are 15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. Entry fee information lists a base fee with a reduced rate for certain employees who provide ID, and online registration closes at midnight on the Wednesday before the event.
