Shelter Island 10K & 5K Run/Walk
The event takes place on Shelter Island at the Shelter Island Union Free School District, 33 N Ferry Road. It offers two distances:
- 10 km
- 5 km
The courses include multiple water stops: the 10 km course has stops at miles 2, 4, 5, and 6, and the 5 km course has a water stop at the halfway point. The event provides finish line photos, die cut medals, and a tri-blend shirt. Post race amenities include complimentary beer for participants 21 and older, live music, awards, and a guided recovery experience with cold plunges and a sauna.
Logistics include a staffed self serve bag drop located by the start area; the organizers do not take responsibility for belongings. A ferry shuttle runs between both ferries and the race site. Direct bus service from Manhattan is arranged through Hampton Jitney with selected drop off at North Haven.
Bibs are mailed to early registrants starting on 6/4; in-person bib and shirt pickup is handled at the FAQ tent outside the Shelter Island High School gym. Registrations made within 24 hours of the event may receive a bib number by text. A virtual run option accepts uploads and photos within a defined window, with items beginning shipment before the event end date.
Awards for the 10 km include top three finishers by male and female age groups and prize purses for overall and masters place finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
