Shelter Island 10K & 5K Run/Walk
The Shelter Island event takes place on June 20, 2026 at the Shelter Island Union Free School District, 33 N Ferry Road, Shelter Island NY 11964. The program offers in-person and virtual options and includes a free kids fun run on Fiske Field.
Race distances:
- 10 km course with water stops at miles 2, 4, 5, and 6.
- 5 km course with a water stop at the halfway point.
- Kids fun run at Fiske Field.
Registration options include in-person and virtual entries for both distances. Registering at least three weeks in advance is required to receive a race shirt, finisher medal, and a personalized bib by mail. Registration fees vary by distance and date, and additional donation options are available; fees are nonrefundable.
Event amenities listed by the organizer include finish line photos, die cut finisher medals, tri-blend shirts, post race beer for participants 21 and older provided by Greenport Harbor Brewing Co, live music after the race, and a staffed bag drop near the start. A ferry shuttle service will run between the ferries and the race site during the afternoon and evening.
