Shelter Island 10K Run/Walk
The event offers road race options on Shelter Island including two main distances. Registration includes in-person and virtual participation options with mailed bibs for early registrants and on-site bib pickup for others.
Distances
- 10K with water stops at miles 2, 4, 5, and 6
- 5K with a water stop at the halfway point
Amenities and services include finish line photos, die-cut medals, a tri-blend race shirt, post-race beer for participants 21 and over, live music after the race, and a free Kids Fun Run with a required in-person waiver. A staffed self-serve bag drop is located near the start area; the event team does not assume responsibility for belongings. Recovery services on site include guided cold plunge and sauna experiences.
Logistics note that ferry shuttle service runs between the ferries and the race site on race day, and direct bus service to the area is arranged via a commercial carrier. Virtual participants can upload times and photos during the event window and may receive shipped items.
Awards and prize structure are published for the 10K and 5K. The 10K includes age-group awards for male and female divisions and a prize purse for top overall and masters finishers, plus course record bonuses and qualifying standards for open prize money.
