Ospreys Dominion Wine Run 5K
The Ospreys Dominion Wine Run 5K takes place at Osprey's Dominion Vineyards in Peconic, New York. The event route consists of a 5 km course designed as a two-loop circuit around the vineyard grounds. This cross-country style path traverses a landscape featuring 50 acres of Carmenere, Pinot Gris, and Sauvignon Blanc vines. While the ground is uneven, the course is intended for both runners and walkers.
Participants receive a variety of themed items as part of their registration. This include a cotton t-shirt, a shatterproof and collapsible wine glass, and a finisher medal that functions as a wine stopper. Following the run or walk, participants are provided with a pour of wine. The race is chip-timed by J3 Timing, and results are published online after the conclusion of the event.
The event is open to all ages, with discounted registration available for minors. Dogs are permitted on the grounds provided they remain on a leash at all times. Strollers are also allowed, though participants are advised that the vineyard terrain is uneven. Top finishers in various ten-year age categories are eligible for custom awards, which can be collected on-site after the results are verified.
