She Strides Metric Marathon
The She Strides Metric Marathon is a 26 km trail race that starts and finishes in the centre of Hebden Bridge. The route begins with a steep climb onto the moor, then levels to a relatively flat section that passes Stoodley Pike. Competitors follow sandy and rocky trails, then stone slabs and reservoirs before reaching a turnaround at the car park of the White House pub and returning along the same line, finishing back in the town centre.
The course is waymarked with flags, includes a tail runner and a halfway checkpoint. Marshalls are positioned along the route and a hydration station at the turnaround offers water and squash. A secure baggage store is available for participant belongings. All finishers receive a medal.
Practical information notes the registration location as The Excited Goat Coffee Lounge on Crown Street, Hebden Bridge HX7 8EH and the event location as 4 Crown St, Hebden Bridge HX7 8EH. Parking in town can be limited on weekends; car parks exist but free spaces are scarce. Hebden Bridge train station is approximately a 10 minute walk from the registration point and the main bus stops in town are on New Road.
