The 13th Annual Shawshank Hustle
The Shawshank Hustle is a 4.6 mile run/walk held at The Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio on August 14, 2027. The event uses electronic chip timing and has a two-hour course limit. The course runs on closed city streets, is fully paved, features rolling hills, and crosses railroad tracks twice. There are four on-course water stops at Mile 1, Mile 2, Mile 2.7, and Mile 3.6, plus misting stations at miles 2.1 and 3.1.
Participants receive a custom tech shirt, a personalized race bib, and a finisher medal. Registration options include standard race entry, a mail-me-my-packet upgrade available to addresses in the contiguous 48 US states, and a virtual participant option with mailed items. Shirt size is guaranteed and name on bib is guaranteed if registered before July 15. Registration closes when capacity of 2,500 participants is reached.
Parking options include off-site free surface lot across Route 545 accessible from 5th Avenue, VIP parking on the Reformatory grounds for a $10 donation limited to the first 750 participants, and free handicapped parking on site. The event benefits the Mansfield Reformatory Preservation Society. Additional features include free admission to the Reformatory with race entry, a Richland Carrousel ticket, free professional photos, a costume contest, age group and overall awards, and post-race activities at a local venue.
