Share The Road, Remembering Raymond Butler 5K
The event is the fourth annual 5k run/walk held in Eclectic, Alabama, on May 30-31, 2026. The start and finish are in front of Elmore County High School at 155 North College Avenue, Eclectic, AL 36024. The event includes both an in-person 5k and a virtual 5k.

The entry fee for the 5k is $30 and includes a Share The Road T-shirt; shirts are guaranteed for those who register by May 22, 2025. Registration closes on May 30, 2026. Awards are given to overall male and female finishers and to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female finishers in age groups: 0-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79 and 80+.
Proceeds from the event will be used to purchase "Share The Road" signs, adding to the twenty-five signs bought from previous races. The event is held in memory of a longtime local athlete and aims to raise awareness that roads are meant to be shared and that cyclists have the same legal right as vehicles to use the roadway.
