Samson Strong 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run
The Samson Strong 5K Race and 1 Mile Fun Run takes place in downtown Tallassee, Alabama. The event starts at the Restoration 49 Coffee Shop located on North Ann Avenue. This gathering serves as a memorial for children in the community and honors bereaved parents. Proceeds from the event support the Samson Strong Foundation, which provides assistance to families experiencing child loss through monetary donations for funeral and memorial costs.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5K (Competitive race)
- 1 Mile (Fun Run and Walk)
The 5K distance is a timed competitive race where medals are awarded to the top performers. Participants receive a runner's bib upon registration. The 1 Mile distance is also timed but does not include awards; participants have the option to either run or walk the course.
Registrants may wear apparel from previous years or purchase the current year's theme shirt. Registration fees are waived for bereaved parents, and the event includes an opportunity for these parents to honor their children.
