Roll of the Dice - January 23, 2027
Roll of the Dice is a random-distance trail race held in Wetumpka, AL, on a roughly 3.12 mile loop. At the start a dice roll determines how many laps each participant completes, so the final race distance varies.
The course is a single loop of smooth, runnable dirt singletrack. The event lists the minimum possible distance as 3.12 miles and the maximum possible distance as 18.72 miles; the organizer notes that distances are not guaranteed to be correct.
There is a single, cupless aid station at the start and finish of the loop offering water and electrolytes. Runners may use a handheld container, collapsible cup, hydration belt, vest, or similar item to carry fluids. Participants may stop at their vehicle or a personal aid station between laps to retrieve supplies. Pizza is provided at the finish. Restrooms are available in the parking lot adjacent to the trailhead.
The published entry fee is USD 19.85. Registration closes January 20. The organizer states the event is planned to run rain or shine and that refunds are not available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
