About the race
Roll of the Dice is a random-distance trail race held in Wetumpka, AL. The event uses a roughly 3.12 mile loop; at the start a dice roll determines how many laps each participant will run. Whatever gear a runner has on them at the start is what they must use for the race.
The course is a single loop of smooth, runnable dirt singletrack. Organizers note that the minimum possible race distance is 3.12 miles and the maximum possible distance is 18.72 miles (distances are not guaranteed to be correct).
Aid and facilities are concentrated at the loop start/finish. A single cupless aid station will supply water and electrolytes; participants must bring their own hydration container. Pizza is provided at the finish. Participants may access personal supplies from their vehicles or personal aid stations between laps. Restrooms are available in the parking lot adjacent to the trailhead.
Refunds are not available. The event has an absolute cutoff set at six hours after the start of the race; organizers may shorten the cutoff if the race distance is much shorter than expected. The event is planned to proceed rain or shine, and no makeup date will be scheduled if weather forces cancellation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
