Community 5K – 5th Annual 5K Run/Walk
The Community 5K is a fundraiser hosted by Community Leadership Academy to benefit the Community Kitchen Program. The event is a 5K run/walk at McAlpine Creek Park, 8711 Monroe Rd, Charlotte, NC 28212.
Registered participants receive a limited-edition 2026 T-shirt, with early pick-up available at Community Kitchen Café, 811 N. Charlotte Ave, Monroe, NC 28110. Registration opens 2026-03-07 and closes 2026-09-04; the registration fee is $35.00. Youth aged 14-18 may request a scholarship to cover the race entry fee.
Medals are awarded to the top three male and female adult finishers and to the top three male and female youth finishers aged 14-18. The top youth male and female finishers also receive a gift certificate for running shoes.
The Community Kitchen Program provides 100% free culinary training, ServSafe certification, hands-on experience, job-readiness support, and employment opportunities for immigrants, refugees, and underserved individuals.
