Shandon Turkey Trot & Burn 5K
The Shandon Turkey Trot & Burn is a community 5K held in the Shandon neighborhood of Columbia, SC on November 27, 2026. The event is managed by GRIT Endurance, LLC and benefits the Shandon Neighborhood Council, a 501(c)(3) organization that will use proceeds for neighborhood improvements. The course is USA Track & Field certified and runs through tree lined streets in Shandon with a Start and Finish area near Craft and Draft where the awards ceremony will be held.
The event encourages themed Thanksgiving attire and awards prizes for the top ten most creative outfits. Teams can enter the Turkey Flock Challenge; prizes and team photo opportunities are planned for the top three teams. Other awards include top three overall male and female finishers, masters and age group placings, top three best dressed dogs, and recognition for the largest teams.
Important participant information published for the event includes a shirt guarantee for registrations completed by November 3, no refunds or deferrals, and that the race is rain or shine. Packet pick up is scheduled before race day at Craft and Draft. Strollers and dogs on leash are allowed.
