Shandon Turkey Trot and Burn 5K
The Shandon Turkey Trot and Burn 5K is a community running event held in the historical Shandon neighborhood of Columbia, South Carolina. Organized by the Shandon Neighborhood Council and managed by GRIT Endurance, LLC, the event serves as a fundraiser for neighborhood improvements. The race takes place on the Friday following Thanksgiving, commonly known as Black Friday.

The course is USA Track & Field certified and takes participants through the local streets. Both the start and finish lines are located near Craft and Draft on Woodrow Street, which also serves as the location for the awards ceremony. The race is open to a maximum of 1000 registrants and accommodates both runners and walkers. Strollers and dogs on a leash are permitted on the course.
Participants often wear Thanksgiving-themed costumes, with prizes awarded to the ten most creative outfits. The event proceeds in various weather conditions, and no refunds or deferrals are provided. Registration includes a race shirt for those who sign up by the designated deadline in early November.
