The Sesquilizer
The Sesquilizer is an 8.67 mile event near 9564 Two Notch Road in Columbia, SC. The course includes about 800 feet of elevation gain and is provided in Strava and Garmin files. Distances offered include:

The event uses an age and gender handicapping format with 22 staggered start groups at one minute intervals. The fastest younger men begin in the final start group and that moment also starts the race clock. Example groupings show earlier starts for older age groups, for instance women 66 and up paired with men 74 and up, followed by men 73 with women 65, then men 72 with women 64, and so on. Start group numbers will be printed on each bib. Runners who wish to run together must use the later assigned slot.
Awards are planned for approximately the top eight overall finishers, so separate age categories are not used for prizes. The event also includes a raffle. Each starter receives a unisex t-shirt with no logos on the back and may select sizes XS through XL during registration. Organizers plan to review results after each running and may adjust handicaps in future editions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
