The Sesquilizer is scheduled for November 22, 2026 in Columbia, SC. The event features an 8.67-mile course near 9564 Two Notch Road with about 700 feet of elevation gain. Registration closes on November 15.
The format uses age- and gender-based staggered starts to equalize finish times. There are 22 start groups, with the later groups leaving after earlier groups in one-minute intervals; the fastest younger men are scheduled to start last. Start group numbers will be printed on each bib. Runners who wish to run together must use the later of the relevant start slots. Competitors are asked to have their bibs on and be prepared well before their group begins.
The event name combines Sesquicentennial and Equalizer and draws inspiration from established races that use age and gender adjustments. Organizers plan to review results after each edition and may adjust the staggered start offsets over time.
Awards and participant items are planned with overall placing in mind rather than separate age categories. Awards are likely to be given to the top eight overall finishers. A raffle is planned and each starter will receive a unisex t-shirt available in sizes XS through XL; shirts have no logos on the back.
