California International Marathon
The California International Marathon is a road racing event organized by the Sacramento Running Association, a non-profit organization. The event features a point-to-point course that has remained unchanged for over four decades. The route begins in the foothills of Folsom and concludes at the California State Capitol.
The event offers the following distances:
- 42.2 km (Full Marathon)
- Marathon Relay
The marathon course is characterized by a net-downhill profile with a total elevation drop of 366 feet (111.5 meters). The terrain consists of gentle rolling hills followed by a flat finish. Due to its design, the course is certified and sanctioned by USATF, serving as an official qualifier for both the Boston Marathon and the U.S. Olympic Trials Marathon.
Participants have access to various event services, including aid stations along the course, a pace team, and official race transportation to the starting area. A dedicated expo and packet pick-up are organized prior to the race. The event also includes the maraFUNrun and a hospitality program for VIP entries. Official finishers can access commemorative merchandise and race photos following the competition. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
