LSSC Shamrock Shuffle
The LSSC Shamrock Shuffle is a community running event held at the Lake-Sumter State College South Lake campus in Clermont, Florida. The event serves as a fundraiser for the LSSC Foundation, with all proceeds supporting student scholarships and educational programs at the college.
Participants can choose from various race distances on the day:
- 10K (6.2 miles)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 1 Mile Fun Run
- Virtual Racer (independent course and timing)
The racecourse starts on the college campus and incorporates the South Lake Trail via the Hancock Extension before returning to the campus for the finish. For safety and course management, the organizers do not allow strollers or pets on the racecourse.
All registered participants receive a t-shirt and a medal, though these items are only guaranteed for those who register by mid-February. Professional timing is provided for the runners, and awards are presented to the top three finishers in each race category by gender. After the event, participants aged 21 and older have access to the Green Beer Garden located on the campus grounds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
