Event Overview
The 4th Annual Shamrock Shuffle organized by Fleet Feet Springfield is a St. Patrick's Day themed running event held in Downtown Springfield. Participants are encouraged to wear green while completing courses that traverse city streets. The event features multiple distance options starting and finishing at Park Central Square.
Distance Options
Participants can choose from three distinct events:
- 15k: A three-lap course through city streets.
- 5k: A single lap course representing one third of the 15k route.
- Beer Mile: A four-lap challenge involving drinking one beer at the start of each quarter-mile lap.
Participant Rewards and Awards
All 5k and 15k participants receive a long-sleeve event shirt. Those completing the 15k distance also receive a finisher medal and two beers.
Fleet Feet gift certificates are awarded to the overall male and female winners in the 5k, 15k, and Beer Mile. In the 5k and 15k categories, gift certificates are also provided to the top three finishers in several age groups, ranging from 12 and under to 70 and over.
Logistics
Packet pickup is available at Fleet Feet Springfield on the day before the race, with a limited pickup window on race morning at Park Central Square for out-of-town participants. The Beer Mile is restricted to participants aged 21 to 100 and follows specific rules regarding stationary drinking and penalty laps.
