Shamrock Shuffle : UW Eau Claire

The Shamrock Shuffle is a non timed 5k run and walk held as a fundraiser and organized by University Recreation and Sport Operations at UW Eau Claire. The event is normally scheduled the first Saturday before Saint Patrick’s Day and the 2027 edition is set for March 6, 2027. The course is a loop that begins and ends at the McPhee Physical Education Center on upper campus, runs down Garfield Avenue hill, crosses the university footbridge and follows the Chippewa Valley River trail.

Registration options include individual and team entries. Individual fees are tiered by age, with lower pricing for children, and team entries require a minimum number of participants and include a long sleeve shirt with names on the back. A guaranteed t shirt deadline is listed in mid February; online registration closes in early March. Same day registration and packet pick up are offered at the McPhee indoor track with shirts available first come, first served and same day payments accepted by cash or check only. No refunds are offered under the published policy.

The event provides a water station at the start and finish; participants who need additional hydration are advised to bring a personal water bottle. Strollers are permitted. A clock at the finish line allows participants to time and track personal progress. Health and safety measures are in place and attendees are asked to follow posted instructions; participation carries an inherent risk of exposure to COVID 19.
