Distances
The event offers two main running distances:
- Shamrock 2 Mile
- Shamrock 5 Mile
A separate, non-competitive "kids Leprechaun Lap" is also scheduled.
Course and Venue
The course starts and finishes on the Crater High School track. The route follows the Bear Creek Greenway as an out-and-back run. Parking for participants is designated in the student parking lot off of 3rd St, next to the gym and football stadium. Parking in faculty lots is not permitted. Bathrooms are available at the venue, but showers are not.
Registration and Fees
Packet pickup is available on the day of the race. The entry fee is $25 for non-club members, with a discounted rate of $20 for SOR members. Youth aged 18 and under can register for free.
Event Policies
The event has specific restrictions: roller-skaters, bicycles, skateboards, baby joggers, dogs, headphones, and unregistered participants are not allowed on the course.
Celebratory Elements
In celebration of St. Patrick's Day, each runner receives Shamrock bulbs to plant. Instead of physical medals, the event features a photo booth where a photographer takes a photo with the participant's phone. Participants can wear a medal and Shamrock props in front of a rainbow backdrop. Wearing green outfits is encouraged. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
