33rd Annual Shamrock 'N' Run 5K
The Shamrock N Run is an annual in-person 5K road event held in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on March 28, 2026. The local Kappa Delta chapter organizes the race as the culmination of its Shamrock fundraising campaign. Event options include a student 5K, a nonstudent 5K, and a T shirt only option. The start line is listed at the Kappa Delta House and Franklin Street in Chapel Hill.
Packet pick up is scheduled for Friday, March 27 with locations and times provided by the organizers: Brandwein's Bagels in Chapel Hill from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Fleet Feet in Carrboro with time to be determined, and the Kappa Delta Sorority House from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Packet pick up will also be available the morning of the race; participants who plan a morning pick up are asked to arrive by 7:15.
The event supports child abuse prevention. Twenty percent of proceeds benefit Prevent Child Abuse America and eighty percent remain local to the Center for Child and Family Health in Durham, North Carolina. Corporate donors at specified thresholds receive recognition on the event T shirt and on-site banners. A silent auction is also part of the weekend activities.
