Fortnight Before Christmas

Fortnight Before Christmas is a community running event at the Northwest Cary YMCA on the Cary Greenways in Cary, North Carolina. The event location is 6903 Carpenter Fire Station Rd., Cary, NC 27519, United States.

Distances offered include:

• 7K
• 5K
• 1 Mile (Fun Mile)

The event features both in-person and virtual options. Additional event categories include a Kids in Strollers entry and an Exhibitor vendor option. Registration fees listed by the organizer include $40.00 for the in-person 7K, $30.00 for the in-person 5K, $20.00 for the Fun Mile, $5.00 for Kids in Strollers, $35.00 for each virtual race option, and $100.00 to reserve an exhibitor booth. The exhibitor fee reserves vendor space only and does not include race registration.

All participants must be registered and numbered to enter the course. Parents registered in the 5K, 7K, or Fun Mile may push small children in a stroller, and children must be registered under their own name and birthdate rather than a parent’s.

The organizer collects new or gently used winter hats and gloves to benefit children and teens ages 0 to 18 in the YMCA’s Community Supported Programs; donations are distributed during the Annual Holiday Gift Drive. Registered 5K and 7K participants receive a shirt and a Santa hat, and Fun Mile participants receive a Santa hat, with a guarantee for certain registrations made by November 29. The event lists over $4,000 in potential in-person and virtual awards and notes a prize for setting a new course record. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
