Fortnight Before Christmas
The Fortnight Before Christmas takes place on Saturday, December 12, 2026, in Cary, North Carolina, at 6903 Carpenter Fire Station Rd. Fit & Able brings back this community event with both in-person and virtual options and a range of race categories.

Races use staggered starts in order of distance. Fortnight Before Christmas registration for 5K and 7K includes a shirt and a Santa hat, and Fun Mile participants receive a Santa hat. Virtual 5K and 7K entries include shirt and Santa hat with shipping. Shirts may also be available for separate purchase.
Proceeds and donations support the Northwest Cary YMCA. Donations will be used to purchase hats, gloves, and coats for distribution, and new or gently used items will be collected on race day.
The event lists over $4,000 in potential in-person and virtual awards including overall and age group prizes, special awards for picking up the pace, and bonuses for new course records.
