Shallowater Stampede

The Shallowater Stampede is an annual community road event held on September 12, 2026 at Shallowater High School, FM1294, Shallowater, TX. The event is listed as the 38th annual edition, part of the West Texas Running Club calendar, and continues a tradition that began in 1988.

Two race options are offered:

• 2M run/walk
• 10K run

Age and equipment rules are specified: participants must be at least 7 years old for the 2M run/walk and at least 13 years old for the 10K; stroller use is restricted to participants aged 18 and older. Entry fees are listed as $8 for WTRC members and nonmember children ages 7 to 12, and $20 for nonmembers for both distances. Race day registration is noted as limited and the organizer states that there are no refunds.

Additional event notes include a bib pickup available on race day, a prohibition on pets on the course, and that race shirts are not included but shirts are available for purchase in Shallowater.
