Llano Estacado Wine Run 5K
The Llano Estacado Wine Run 5K takes place at Llano Estacado Winery in Lubbock, Texas on Saturday, February 13, 2027. The event is a chip timed 5K that starts and finishes at the winery and is run mostly cross country on grass. The course includes many turns through the vineyards and a tour of the wine cellar, and it is described as flat and suitable for runners and walkers.
Registration includes a super soft ring spun cotton T-shirt, a shatterproof collapsible wine glass, a finisher medal, and a race bib. Results are posted online, and each finisher receives a pour of wine. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the event at the winery and race day pickup is available as well.
Age group awards are offered for the top three finishers in each category. Categories are divided in ten-year increments from 19 and under through 80 and over. Competitive runners must start with the first group to be eligible for age group awards; medals are available for pickup on the day of the event and will not be shipped.
Additional event notes from the organizer: minors may participate and receive a discounted registration with shirt, medal, and bib but no wine glass or pour; strollers are allowed but not recommended on the uneven course and children in strollers may participate for free without registration; walking is allowed; dogs are prohibited on site due to USDA rules for produce and vegetable farms.
