Trail Running at Laurel Hill County Park
Shake Your Trail Feathers is an off-road running event located at Laurel Hill County Park in Mount Pleasant. The course takes participants through a varied landscape of wooded paths and rolling dirt trails. The terrain consists of natural, unimproved surfaces, ranging from hard-packed trails with roots to grassy sections and occasional areas of uneven ground. Due to these conditions, the use of strollers is not recommended.
The event offers several distance options to accommodate different interests:
- 10K – A trail run through the park's landscape.
- 5K – A shorter trail race option.
- Kids Dash – A race designed for young participants.
The event is open to runners and walkers of all experience levels. Participants between the ages of 10 and 15 are permitted to register but must be accompanied by a registered adult chaperone. As part of an effort to host cup-less events, runners are asked to bring their own water bottles, though water stations are provided along the loop course.
On-site packet pick-up is available on the morning of the event. Finish-line activities include music and seasonal treats. Please note that pets are not permitted on the course.
