About the race
Shake Your Trail Feathers is a trail running and walking event at Laurel Hill County Park in Mount Pleasant, SC. The course passes through wooded paths and rolling dirt trails and includes areas of hard-packed trail, roots, and grass. Colorful costumes on the course and a finish-line celebration with music and fall-themed treats are part of the event. Winners receive Thanksgiving fixings and all finishers receive a commemorative medal.
Distances offered:
- Kids Dash : untimed children’s dash; separate $5 registration includes a finisher medal.
- 5K : trail distance on park paths.
- 10K : longer trail distance through the park’s landscape.
Registration is required. Participants ages 10–15 may register but must be accompanied by a registered adult chaperone. Parent or guardian must be present for child participants. On-site packet pick-up is available. The event aims to reduce single-use cups, so participants are asked to bring their own water bottle. Pets are not allowed on the course and strollers are not recommended.
The course contains occasional uneven terrain and natural obstacles. Accessible port-a-let is available at the event site; there is no accessible parking. Shirt sizes are not guaranteed for late registrations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
