Sgt. Dennis Vaccaro Memorial 5K Run/Walk
The event is a community running event held at the West Long Branch Community Center, 116 Locust Ave, West Long Branch, NJ. The program includes a 5K run/walk and a free Kids Dash with related activities.

Amenities include live, text, and email results; free finish-line photos; personalized bibs for registrations completed three weeks in advance; event t-shirts for pre-registered participants (no shirts for the fun run); a raffle with a grand prize for participants 21 and older; post-run refreshments; and a food bank presence for nonperishable donations. Virtual bibs are shipped to participants, with a shipping window that ranges from about one week before the event to about one week after.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female overall finishers and to the top male and female in standard age groups (14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+). There is also recognition for the largest group.
Course details note a mostly flat route around Franklin Lake and through the surrounding neighborhood. The start is in front of the community center and the finish is behind the community center. Parking is available at the back entrance of Shore Regional High School (off Parker), a short walk to the venue. Early bib and shirt pickup is available on 5/22; day-of pickup is handled by event staff.
