Sgt. Dennis Vaccaro Memorial 5K Run/Walk
The event is a community 5K run and walk held at the West Long Branch Community Center in West Long Branch, New Jersey. The course is described as mostly flat and runs around Franklin Lake and through nearby neighborhoods, with the start located at the front of the community center and the finish behind the center. Parking is available at the back entrance of Shore Regional High School off Parker Street.
Amenities include live, text, and email results, free finish line photos, personalized bibs for those registered at least three weeks in advance, a Free Kids Dash and on-site activities, a raffle for a grand prize for participants 21 and older, post run refreshments, and T shirts for all pre registered entrants. A local food bank will also be attending to collect nonperishable food donations. Virtual participants receive their bibs and shirts shipped within a window that ranges from one week before the event to one week after the event.
Award categories cover the top three male and female overall finishers, top male and female in standard age groups including 14 and under through 70 plus, and an award for the largest group.
