Event overview

The SGFMC Turkey Trot is an annual 5-kilometer (about 3.1 miles) run/walk in Oak Park, Illinois, held on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025. The event starts and finishes at St. Giles Gym on Linden Street. The course is not certified and follows neighborhood streets including Greenfield, Marion, Le Moyne, Rossell, Elmwood, Berkshire, Ridgeland, Division, and Euclid.

Registration, logistics and proceeds

Entry fees are listed as $25 for most participants and $10 for ages 0-9. T-shirts are available for $15 in adult sizes S, M, L and XL while supplies last. Entry is limited to 450 registrations; online registration closes the day before the event or earlier if the limit is reached. Pre-ordered t-shirts and race bibs may be picked up the day before and on race morning at St. Giles Gym. Race-day registration is permitted only if the 450 limit has not been reached.

The event will use course markings and a finish-line timing system. Rules state no shortcuts and caution at intersections; bicycles and skaters will not be timed. There is no formal awards ceremony; top three overall male and female finishers receive medals and age-group 1st–3rd place finishers receive ribbons, distributed at the finish. Proceeds are split 50/50 between Companions Journeying Together (supporting the Aunt Mary’s Storybook program) and The Neighborhood Bridge.
