Sevier Valley Marathon
The Sevier Valley Marathon is a road race in central Utah that runs from Big Rock Candy Mountain to the south end of Richfield. The route begins at the Candy Mountain Express Trailhead on Historic Utah Highway 89, winds out of Marysvale canyon and follows the Sevier River into Sevier Valley.
The course follows the Candy Mountain Express bike path through the towns of Sevier, Joseph, and Elsinore, and finishes adjacent to the Cove View Golf Course in Richfield. The starting elevation is 5,803 feet and the ending elevation is 5,327 feet, giving a total elevation loss of 1,232 feet and a total elevation gain of 754 feet. The course is certified by USATF (certification code UT25010TJD) and is eligible for Boston Marathon qualification; the course is described as net downhill and has no time penalty for Boston qualification.
There will be a total of nine aid stations with restrooms along the course. Aid stations are noted at mile markers 3, 6.5, 10, 13, 16.5, 20, 22.5, and 24.5 and will offer water, an electrolyte drink (ReLyte), bananas, oranges, fruit snacks, Clif blox, and GU. Race packets and bibs are distributed the evening before the race at the Elks Lodge on S. Cove View Road in Richfield. Transportation to the start is arranged for a limited number of entrants, and the event has an overall cutoff of about six hours. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
