Event information
The Settle Saunter is an annual walking and running event in the Yorkshire Dales. It starts and finishes at Victoria Hall, Kirkgate, Settle, BD24 9DZ. The route uses footpaths and bridleways and passes through rural villages, hamlets and lower fells around Settle. The event is organised by the Rotary Club of Settle with help from the local community and raises money for local and international charities.
Routes and entry
There are three routes:
- 37k / 23 miles
- 21k / half marathon (13 miles)
- 10k (6.2 miles)
Entry fees listed are £28 for the 23 mile and half marathon, and £20 for the 10k. Children aged 5 to 11 whose parent has entered the 10k are allowed to enter free of charge. The 23 mile route is restricted to ages 13 and older. Juniors aged 15 or younger must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Unaccompanied 16-17 year olds must provide a parental or guardian consent form. Entries are managed through the SiEntries system.
Logistics and race details
All routes are marked with tape and are described as very runnable. SPORTident electronic timing will be used. Maps and GPS files are available to entrants. Dogs are allowed if kept on a lead. Staggered starts are used to reduce crowding, with longer routes starting before the shorter route. The event centre cafe is open all day.
