Event overview

The Settle Saunter is an annual walking and running event on footpaths and bridleways in the Yorkshire Dales. It takes place in Settle, with the event base at Victoria Hall, Kirkgate, BD24 9DZ, on Sunday 31 May 2026. The event is organised by the Rotary Club of Settle with help from the local community and raises money for local and international charities, including Fell Rescue, Victoria Hall in Settle and a Health Education Project in Nepal. A cafe at the event centre will be open all day.

Routes, entry and rules

There are three routes available:

  • 37 km / 23 miles
  • 21 km / 13 miles (half marathon)
  • 10 km / 6.2 miles

Entries open on Tuesday 2 December 2025 and close on Thursday 28 May 2026. Entry fees listed are: 23 mile £28, half marathon £28, 10k £20. Children under 11 whose parents have entered the 10k may enter free of charge. The 23 mile route is restricted to ages 13 and older; the 10k is open to ages 5 and older. Under-13s are welcome on the two shorter routes. Juniors aged 15 or younger must be accompanied by a responsible adult; 16- and 17-year-olds who are unaccompanied must provide a parental or guardian consent form. Dogs are permitted if kept on a lead. Routes are flagged with tape, described in a comprehensive route description, and use SPORTident timing; maps and GPS files are available to entrants. Staggered starts are used to reduce crowding, with longer courses starting before shorter ones. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
