Settle Saunter
The Settle Saunter is an annual walking and running event around the small market town of Settle and nearby parts of the Yorkshire Dales. It follows footpaths, bridleways and minor lanes, passes through rural villages and hamlets, and crosses some of the lower fells surrounding Settle. The event is organised by the Rotary Club of Settle with help from the local community and raises funds for charities including Fell Rescue, Victoria Hall in Settle and a health education project in Nepal.
There are three route options for entrants, all of which can be run or walked:
- 10k / 6.2 miles
- Half marathon / 21k
- 37k / 23 miles
Routes are flagged with tape and use SPORTident timing. Entrants receive a comprehensive route description, and maps and GPS files are available for download. Dogs are allowed provided they are kept on a lead and entrants follow the published dog guidance. A cafe in the garden at the event centre will be open during the event serving snacks and drinks.
Entries open on Wednesday 2 December 2026 and close on Thursday 20 May 2027. Entry fees are listed as follows: 23 mile £28, half marathon £28, 10k £20. Children aged 5 to 11 whose parent has entered the 10k may enter free of charge. Age rules include a minimum of 13 years for the 23 mile route and a minimum of 5 years for the 10k.
