September 11 Memorial 5K - Middletown
The September 11 Memorial 5K in Middletown is a community memorial event held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, that marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks. The morning combines a public ceremony and a timed 5K run and walk to honor those who were lost and to acknowledge first responders.
The ceremony takes place at Fire Station 83 and features the Honor Guard and the traditional "Ringing of the Four Fives." The timed course covers a scenic 5K route of 3.1 Miles and is recorded by Brunning Endurance. At the finish, each participant may ring the memorial bell as part of the event tradition.
Registration details are set by the organizer. Registration opens July 10, 2026 and closes July 31, 2026. The registration fee is $25.00. Pre registered participants are guaranteed a 2026 event t shirt if registered by August 20. Walk up registration is allowed and any extra shirts will be distributed on a first come first served basis.
