ORRRC Gift Exchange 5k
The ORRRC Gift Exchange 5k is a community 5-kilometer event held in Kettering at the Kettering Recreation Complex, 2900 Glengarry Drive, Kettering, OH 45420. The race is organized by the Ohio River Road Runners Club as a holiday-themed run with a gift exchange in place of a traditional entry fee.
Participants are asked to bring a wrapped gift valued at about $10 to be entered in a group gift exchange after the run. All participants receive a gift through the exchange. Overall male and overall female winners receive an additional special gift. Gifts that contain alcoholic beverages or adult content are not permitted because children may receive exchanged items.
The event is presented as an ORRRC small race. It is free for ORRRC members and free for participants age 14 and under; non-members may be charged a modest small race fee. Pre-registration is available through RunSignup and chip pickup is at the green registration table on race day. Minors may be pre-registered by a parent or guardian and must have a liability waiver signed online or on the event registration sheet.
Volunteers may assist at the event and may participate in the gift exchange if they bring a wrapped gift. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
