Event overview
The ORRRC Gift Exchange 5k is a holiday-themed 5-kilometre running event on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the Kettering Recreation Complex, 2900 Glengarry Drive, Kettering, OH 45420. The race is presented by the Ohio River Road Runners Club, a 100% all-volunteer 501(c)(3) Ohio non-profit that promotes running and supports the local running community around Dayton. Instead of a traditional entry fee, participants bring a wrapped gift valued around $10 to take part in a group gift exchange after the race. All participants receive a gift through the exchange; overall male and overall female finishers receive an additional special gift. Alcoholic beverages and adult-only gifts are not permitted.
Registration and logistics
Pre-registration is handled through RunSignup. The event is free for ORRRC members and for participants aged 14 and under; the standard nonmember fee listed for this small race is $10, which includes a chip-timed finish, refreshments, and the possibility of small age-group awards. Minors must be registered by a parent or guardian and have a signed liability waiver. Race day registration is available online until shortly before the event; hard-copy registration sheets are also provided.
