Self-Transcendence 2-mile race Seattle
This is a measured and timed two-mile running and walking event held at Magnuson Park in Seattle, Washington. It takes place on the first Saturday of every month and will mark its 30th year in 2025. The event is free and family friendly, with registration handled at the start line.
The course is a looped out-and-back along the shores of Lake Washington, with the meeting point just north of the boat ramp across the wood footbridge. Scenic features along the route include lake waves, birds and eagles, and views of Mount Rainier on clear days. Organizers keep records of previous races so participants may compare month-to-month results.
Races run in all weather, including rain and snow. The format accommodates both running and walking on the same measured course. The event is sponsored by the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team and is presented as a recurring community timed 2-mile measurement. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
