Seek the Peak 2026

Seek the Peak is an endurance event covering a 16 km course on the North Shore of Vancouver. The route travels from sea level to the mountain summit, featuring a total elevation gain of 1,400m. The event supports the Metro Vancouver Regional Parks Foundation through registration fees and fundraising efforts.

The course is divided into four specific stages:

  • Ambleside Beach to Keith Road: Starting at the waterfront and following the Capilano Pacific Trail north.
  • Capilano to the base of Grouse Mountain: Traversing the Capilano Dam via the Palisades Trail and Nancy Greene Way.
  • The Grouse Grind: A steep ascent involving 2,830 steps to reach the mountain plateau.
  • Plateau to the Peak of Vancouver: A short crossing of the grassy plateau followed by a final climb up the Heaven's Sake ski run.

Participants can enter as solo runners or as relay teams of 2 to 4 people. A course time limit of 4 hours and 30 minutes is in place for safety.

This is a cupless event, meaning participants must carry their own refillable hydration vessels for use at aid stations. Logistics included for participants involve a commemorative race bib, a finisher medal, and a shuttle bus service between Grouse Mountain and Ambleside Park. A finish line celebration at the Mountaintop Plaza features a DJ and recovery zone. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
