Sedbergh Fell Race

The Sedbergh Fell Race takes place on Saturday 16 May 2026. The event is a championship race for the British Open Fell Runners Association (BOFRA). It starts at The Showfield on Back Lane in Sedbergh (LA10 5AQ). The venue is on the A684, about six miles east of M6 junction 37.

The main senior race covers 2.20 miles (3.50 km) with 1100 feet (340 meters) of climb. The course is a classic ascent of Winder, with a track leading up from the start and following a beck. No dogs are permitted in the start field, which is a school playing area.

The event includes junior races for several age categories: Under 9, Under 12, Under 14, and Under 17. Their respective distances are 1.00 km, 2.00 km, 2.60 km, and 3.10 km, with climbs ranging from 40 to 230 meters. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
