Seawolf Shuffle 5K Run/Walk
The Seawolf Shuffle is an annual campus running event organized by Healthier U for the Stony Brook University community. The event includes a 5K run/walk and a separate kids 1/2 mile fun run. Participation is open to faculty, staff, students, alumni and their families. The event is free for members of the Stony Brook community; donations to the university Hardship Fund are accepted.
The course begins and finishes at the Stony Brook Union Patio and follows sidewalks along John S. Toll Drive and Circle Road, including a roundabout section before returning to the Union Patio. The total distance for the 5K is 3.1 miles. All participants are asked to stay on sidewalks.
Event amenities listed for participants include medals for the first 300 finishers, live text and email results, free finish line photos, and personalized bibs for those who register at least three weeks in advance. Awards are given to the top overall male, female, and nonbinary participants, and prizes are provided for all youth participants. Bib pickup is handled by event staff on race day, with a self lookup available for those who do not know their bib number. Registration details are provided by the organizer prior to the event.
