2026 UW Medicine Seattle Marathon and Half Marathon
The UW Medicine Seattle Marathon and Half Marathon is a long-standing athletic tradition in the Pacific Northwest, with a history dating back to 1970. The event takes place on the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend in Seattle, Washington. The course features a terrain of rolling hills and provides views of the city's bridges, waterways, and architecture.
Participants can choose from a variety of categories and distances:
- Full Marathon Run
- Full Marathon Walk (non-competitive)
- Full Marathon Wheelchair/Hand Crank
- Half Marathon Run
- Half Marathon Walk (non-competitive)
- Half Marathon Wheelchair/Hand Crank
- Virtual Full and Half Marathon options
The event organizers offer specific registration tiers for different groups. Complimentary entry is available for elite runners who meet specific time standards, such as sub 2:35:00 for men and sub 3:05:00 for women in the marathon. Discounted rates are also available for sub-elite runners, active military members, and veterans. Support runners assisting participants on the course can receive a matching bib and participant gear but are not competitively timed.
All registered participants receive a long-sleeve shirt, a race bib, and a finisher medal. Optional additions, such as post-race massages and specialized finisher apparel, are available for purchase.
