Seaside Marathon
Seaside Marathon is held at Solimar Beach in Ventura and follows the Ventura beachfront and portions of the Historic Old Rincon Highway. The event offers multiple road race distances:
- Marathon - two loop full marathon course
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
The course is described as mostly flat with extensive ocean views and a gentle coastal breeze. It is a USATF certified course and is listed as a Boston qualifier for the full marathon. Mile markers are placed along the route. Aid stations provide water and Gatorade at approximately 1.5 mile intervals. Portable restrooms are placed along the course and additional units are located at the park and start area.
The full marathon includes a generous seven hour time limit. An early start option is available for full marathon entrants who notify the organizers in advance; early starters should be prepared for limited on-course support during the initial segment and must be familiar with the out and back course.
Logistics noted for participants include on-site packet pickup the day before the race at local fitness facilities, race day packet pickup availability, off-site shuttle service to the beach, and no athlete parking along the beach. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three in each age group across all distances. The event participates in a local race series with a special series finisher medal for completing all races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
