Event Overview
The 17th Seashore Classic is a running event on Saturday, May 2, 2026. It takes place in Lewes, Delaware, starting and finishing at Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant on Anglers Road. The event is produced by Seashore Strider Event Production Inc. and benefits the James J. Kiernan Memorial Scholarship.
Distances
The event offers three different race formats:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles)
- Half Marathon 2-Person Relay
Course and Location
The course is described as "fast & flat." The Half Marathon is an out-and-back route through Cape Henlopen State Park to Gordon's Pond. The 5K is also an out-and-back course on a bike trail near the state park entrance. Packet pickup is available the day before the race at the same location.
Amenities and Details
Participants receive a long-sleeve race shirt. Individual Half Marathon finishers get a finisher medal. There is a post-race party with refreshments at Irish Eyes Pub. The event is chip-timed, with a pace cutoff of 13:44 per mile (a 3-hour finish for the Half Marathon). Awards are given to top finishers in various age groups and divisions.
