Event Details
The Seashore 5 Miler is a 5-mile running event taking place in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. It is the 43rd edition of the race. The event is part of the Seashore Strider Championship Series, where it is the ninth event and the second of two five-mile races in that series.
Location
The race has a new location at Grove Park in Rehoboth Beach. This park is also the location for other local races like the Firecracker 5k, Seawitch 5k, and Pumpkin Pie 5k. The site includes a museum, visitor center, and Main Street offices.
Registration & Fees
Registration is available online or by mail. The entry fee follows a tiered pricing structure. Participants registered by a specific date are guaranteed a t-shirt, while later registrations are subject to availability. The organizer has a no-refund policy but offers options to transfer an entry to a future event, donate the fee, or defer to the following year.
Awards & Timing
Awards are given to overall male and female champions, overall masters (40+ years), and the top three male and female finishers in 16 age categories. The race uses chip timing. An awards ceremony is held shortly after the final finisher.
Beneficiary & Series
The event raises money for local charities and individuals in need in the Cape Region. It is an automatic part of the Seashore Strider Championship Series, which requires participants to complete specific races and a "Be Kind Good Deed" to qualify.
