Harvard Pilgrim Seafood Fest 5K
The Harvard Pilgrim Seafood Fest 5K is a coastal running event held in Hampton, New Hampshire. The main course follows Route 1A along the seacoast, featuring an out and back route that concludes on the sand of Hampton Beach, positioned near the local Seafood Festival.
Participants can choose between the following options:
- 5 km (3.1 miles) run
- 100 yard Lil' Lobster Run for children
- 3.1 mile Virtual race
The children's event, the Lil' Lobster Run, is held on the beach and is divided into three age categories: 4 and younger, 5-6, and 7-8. Youth participants receive a specific medal at the finish. For the 5 km event, race registration includes entry into the Hampton Beach Seafood Festival, which features over 80 vendors, culinary demonstrations, live music, and a beer garden for those aged 21 and over.
The event site at the New Hampshire Marine Memorial offers pre-race yoga on the beach for which advance registration is required. Post-race refreshments include water, sports drinks, bananas, and yogurt. Awards are presented to the top three overall men and women, as well as the top three finishers in five-year age groups ranging from under 12 to over 80. Participants in the 5 km race who are 21 or older receive a beer ticket for use at the festival beer garden. Digital race photos and finisher videos are also provided to participants following the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
