Seacoast Half Marathon
The Seacoast Half Marathon takes place on October 25, 2026 and is the 21st annual running of the event. The race starts and finishes at Portsmouth High School and runs through the coastal New Hampshire communities of Portsmouth, Rye, and New Castle.
The course is described as fast and mostly flat with a few rolling hills. It passes woodlands, salt marshes, the rugged coastline, working waterways, historic homes, and Portsmouth Harbor, offering a variety of coastal and town views.
The event is organized as a local charitable race. One hundred percent of the net proceeds go to a nonprofit beneficiary; the race has raised nearly $2 million for area nonprofits in past years. The 2026 beneficiary is Krempels Brain Injury Center, a nonprofit focused on improving the lives of people living with acquired brain injury through evidence based programming, shared experiences, and community support. Krempels designs programs with input from its members and aims to help each person achieve their maximum potential and satisfaction with life after brain injury.
Participants receive a long sleeve race shirt and a medal. The event includes a team competition with awards for the fastest and the largest teams. Volunteer roles are available in a range of start times and lengths; volunteers receive a Seacoast Half shirt, coffee, and other treats.
