Great Bay 5K - Race for a Healthy Estuary
The Great Bay 5K is the 28th annual five-kilometre road race held at Stratham Hill Park in Stratham, New Hampshire. The course passes the shores of Great Bay and is described as scenic and mostly downhill. The event serves as the final race in the Seacoast Road Race Series and raises funds for the nonprofit Great Bay Stewards, which supports conservation, education, community outreach, stewardship, and research of the Great Bay Estuary.
Registration for the in-person race opens on April 1, 2026, with a registration fee of $35. Registrants receive a race bib; the bib includes a tear strip redeemable for a free beer or cider at select establishments. A long sleeve race shirt is provided to participants who register by October 1, 2026; participants who register after that date may claim a shirt on race day if supplies remain.
Wheelchair racers are welcome and have a separate start prior to the main field; motorized wheelchairs are not permitted and wheelchair racers are responsible for maintaining their own equipment. The event includes a range of awards and prizes, including finisher awards for the top three male and female runners, competitive walker and wheelchair divisions, age-graded and age-group awards, team prizes (single-gender, mixed team Oyster Cup, largest team), specialty awards such as the oldest-runner recognition, costume awards, and record bonuses for course and New Hampshire 5K records.
