Sea of Galilee Prayer Run
The event is a free, multi-loop group run around Old Camp Cosby Lake in Clay, AL (6285 Old Springville Rd). The run is organized as a group walk/jog/run through the Trecho Walk Jog Run group at FBCTrussville and does not require prior registration to participate; registration is used for planning purposes. Registration closes Fri, Jun 19 @ 11:59 PM CT.
The format begins with a five-minute devotional and a short prayer, followed by a group start. One lap of the course measures 1.55 miles. There are ten prayer stations placed around the loop, each with specific prayer prompts focused on the people in and around the Sea of Galilee. Course arrows mark the route and multiple water stations will be available. A clock will be present on site but there is no official timing for finishers.
Lap counting will use dog tags; participants punch a hole in the tag for each completed lap. Participants keep the dog tag and may attach it to a finisher medal. For runners doing many laps, parking is available in various spots around the loop or participants may bring a cooler or container to serve as a personal aid station supply.
